Position: Partnerships and API Integration Specialist

Hourly Salary Range: $25 – $40

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled contractor to assist with API research and development. The ideal candidate will focus on establishing partnerships with various platforms to gain access to their APIs. This role requires a proactive approach to identify and contact potential partners, as well as technical expertise to understand and integrate their APIs.  You must have experience in API development and networking.  You must be a highly skilled individual who can bridge the gap between technical development, API integration, and business development.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of APIs, including RESTful APIs, authentication methods (OAuth, API keys), and data structures.
  • Ability to read and analyze API documentation, test endpoints using tools like Postman, and create mock integrations.
  • Knowledge of SaaS platforms, preferably those with real-time communication systems (e.g., Twilio or Google Speech-to-Text).
  • Experience in software architecture and designing integration solutions

Business Development Acumen:

  • Proven experience building partnerships, especially in the restaurant tech or hospitality industry.
  • Understanding of reservation platforms, but not limited to (e.g., Tock, OpenTable, Resy, Yelp Reservations) and their relevance to Syntheia’s SaaS conversational AI platform.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders to negotiate access to APIs or co-develop strategic partnerships.

Solution Architecting:

  • Capable of defining a clear integration architecture that outlines how APIs will our platform.
  • Experience creating documentation and handover materials for the development team.

Project Management Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate with your team and external partners.
  • Ability to outline timelines, deliverables, and milestones.

Education/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with experience in sales engineering, technical consulting, or API partnerships.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with conversational AI, and restaurant technology.

Past Roles:

  • API Consultant, Solutions Architect, Technical Business Developer, or Sales Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify platforms (Calendy, Salesforce, Tock, OpenTable, etc.) with APIs relevant to our platform.
  • Establish relationships with these platforms and obtain API access.
  • Evaluate and document API capabilities, including limitations and integration possibilities.
  • Design an architectural framework for integrating reservation data into our platform.
  • Coordinate with our team to ensure alignment on integration strategy and goals.
  • Handoff integration plans, workflows, and API documentation to our development team.
